Norwood B. Vail is a 1944 Earlham College graduate. The Vail Collection consists of hundreds of photographs and other images of Quaker meetinghouses and churches from around the world, but especially in the US and Great Britain, organized geographically.
Journal and letters of Elizabeth J. (Brown) Vanskiver (1800-1886), a Hicksite Friend of Preble County, Ohio. Includes a journal of a journey from Burlington County, New Jersey to Ohio, 1815, and letters, 1822-1858, from relatives in Maiden Creek, New Jersey, and Huntington County, Ind. Includes some letters to Elizabeth's daughter, Hannah J. Vanskiver, born 1831. Photocopies transferred from FMS 33.
Lois S. Vaught was a Friends missionary in China from 1931 to 1944. This collection consists of a copy of a letter to Bea Kimball of Richmond, Ind., 1992, and a reminiscence of mission life in China. Gift of Bea Kimball, 1992.
The Vernon Family Papers consist of correspondence, business documents, and genealogical material relating to the family of Richard Vernon (1789-1877) of Stokes County, North Carolina, and Jefferson County, Ind. The correspondence includes letters from relatives in Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina, with comments on farming, slavery, business, and the coming of the Civil War.
Arend Vlaskamp (1895-1974) was an accountant and Quaker of Muncie, Ind. who attended Earlham College, 1914-1917. The collection consists of material relating to his work in France as a conscientious objector with the Friends Reconstruction Unit, 1917-1919. Gift of Joseph A. Vlaskamp, 1994.
