Facts

Collaboration Across Disciplines

Many Earlham Mathematics students pursue double majors or minor in other disciplines. Recent students have paired Math not only with all the other sciences, but also with Economics, Japanese, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Religion and Sociology.

After Earlham

Recent Earlham Mathematics graduates have pursued graduate programs in actuarial science, computer science, education, engineering, environmental science, law, mathematics, medicine, musicology, planetary science, psychology and theology.

Others have become high school teachers, business managers, computer programmers, system analysts, environmental statisticians, actuaries or mathematics professors.

Graduate schools attended include Bryn Mawr College; Earlham School of Religion; Indiana, Stanford and Oregon State universities; and the universities of Kentucky, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Technology

Campus computer labs utilize mathematical and statistical software such as GAP, Maple, SPSS and Fathom. In adddition, the Mathematics Department owns a set of TI-92 graphing calculators for use by students both in and out of the classroom.
