Faculty Profiles

Mic Jackson, Professor of Mathematics. B.S., U.S. Air Force Academy; M.S., Middle Tennessee State University; Ph.D., University of South Florida. Mic's background includes civil engineering and mathematics education as well as mathematics. In addition to his work in the Mathematics Department, Mic is the Director of Environmental Programs at Earlham. He has been active in the national effort to reform calculus education and has worked in computational geometry and in mathematical modeling of groundwater flows.

Tim McLarnan, Professor of Mathematics. B.A., M.S., PhD., University of Chicago; Ph.D., University of California, San Diego. Tim has done graduate work and research in crystallography and chemistry as well as in mathematics, and has taught both Mathematics and Computer Science at Earlham. An author of popular software for weavers, he has more recently become passionate about analytic number theory.

Anand Pardhanani, Assistant Professor of Mathematics. B.S., Indian Institute of
Technology; Ph.D., M.S., University of Texas, Austin. Anand has spent most of his career working in mathematics applied to engineering and science problems.
