Friends Colloquium

A one-credit, hour-long class, Friends Colloquium meets weekly and examines a Quaker text or some aspect of Quaker faith and practice. Topics have included diversity among Friends, Friends' use of creative writing, and Quakers and the Bible. Previous texts have included Quakers in America, Walk Worthy of Your Calling and The Quaker Bible Reader.

Spring 2015:

REL 160: Our Sacred Stories: Naming the Journey and Walking the Path (Writing Your Spiritual Autobiography)

After having read Quaker writers from a variety of time periods and reflecting on the readings, each student will explore their own spiritual life through writing exercises in class that will lead the student to complete a written piece that conveys the arc of their own spiritual journey. Appropriate for first-year students.
