Anna Deavere Smith2American actress, playwright and professor Anna Deavere Smith speaks on the importance of the Arts on the human condition.  Smith is the artist-in-residence at the Center for American Progress and is widely known for her roles as Nancy McNally in The West Wing and Gloria Akalitus in the Showtime series Nurse Jackie.  Her speech is entitled Engaging the World: The Role of the Artist in Society.
