He lived in Richmond for most of his 93 years. Prior to his death in 2000, he commited his enti re estate to go to the Wayne County Foundation for the benefit of Earlham College. The Bond funds go directly to scholarships and financial aid. However, when asked how he wanted to designate his gift, he is reported to have off - handedly said, “I don’t c are how Earlham uses the money.
