Peace Studies as a Social Science: Developing analytical and practical skills

What do you do with a
PAGS major?

How Does PAGS Influence Alumni Work?

PAGS alums report that their experience in their major influenced their life choices and helped them to acquire skills useful both inside and outside the workplace. Through experiential learning they gained experience in dealing with interpersonal and intercultural conflict, with leadership, and with community building.

In a wide range of classes they studied issues of vital interest through the lenses of history, philosophy, economics, and politics. PAGS has proved to be a center for students’ interdisciplinary liberal arts education and a springboard to graduate study. The program allowed room for those who wanted to combine their PAGS major with another department or program to pursue a double major.
