Minutes/Notes - Wednesday, April 3, 2002
Teague Library
Present: Rick
Foreman, Wes Miller, Paul Ogren, Sara Penhale, Newell Pledger-Shinn, Bob
Southard, Monteze Snyder, Doug Bennett, Kirsten Bohl
White Papers
· Financial
Aid - is posted on the Web site
· Faculty and Staff - is ready to be posted on the Web site
· Student Life - is posted on the Web site
In the case of
the Faculty/Staff papers, we are also in the midst of seeking feedback
from particular individuals/groups on campus.
We discussed the
Community Life white paper and gave feedback to Sara for revisions.
Doug will write
a short blurb reintroducing the white papers to the community as drafts-in-progress.
Value/Perception
Matrix
We discussed the
placementof
"housing" on the value/perception matrix. We agreed its proper
place on the grid (considering all the data) should be "low Earlham
performance/medium importance to students."
We agreed that
next Wednesday, we will declare the value/perception matrix final. (That
is, we will declare our confidence in the placement of various items
on the grid according to all the data we have reviewed.)
Doug distributed
a very preliminary first draft of the committee's final report. (For circulation
within the committee.) He invited committee members to send him input
on the draft.
We approved the minutes
for March 13 and March 27.
We agreed that future
meetings would begin at 3:30 rather than 3:00 p.m. Doug will be absent
next week (and cannot call into the meeting); he'll be attending an NAICU
board meeting and hosting an alumni gathering in Atlanta.
Next Meeting
Next meeting will
be Wed., April 10 from 3:30 till 6:00 p.m. in Teague Library.
