VIII. Administrative Authority

As a general rule the President of Earlham College is not involved in issues of Student Discipline. However, he/she is empowered to determine the status of any student at any time and may review any College process he/she chooses. Further he/she has an obligation to try to assure the safety of individuals, and to preserve the property, legal status and educational process of the College. Therefore, the President may, at any time, use executive authority to remove, suspend, withdraw or expel any student from the College. The President may, in extreme circumstances, concern him/herself with a particularly complicated or troubling case. No student may be expelled from the College without the President’s consent.
