Earlham Vehicle Driver's Registration

Qualifications to be registered without appeal as an Earlham vehicle driver include:

1. Provide the Campus Safety and Security fleet manager with a copy of your driving record for the last two years. It must be an official copy from your state's driving record office (i.e., Indiana — Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Michigan — Secretary of State).
2. Present to the Campus Safety and Security fleet manager your valid driver's license issued in the United States; license is currently valid and valid for the next two years.
3. You must have fewer than six points on your license.
4. Your driving record must show that you have not accumulated more than three speeding tickets in the last two years.
5. You cannot have the following, violations on your driving record in the last two years: "disregard stop/yield sign," "unsafe lane movement" or "fail to use headlights.
6. You must not be responsible for any of the following offenses during your driving career:
1. reckless homicide resulting from operating a motor vehicle;
2. voluntary or involuntary manslaughter resulting from the operation of a motor vehicle;
3. a driver involved in an accident that results in death or injury who fails to stop at the scene of the accident and provide the required information and assistance;
4. operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated resulting in death;
5. operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or more resulting in death;
6. reckless driving;
7. driving while intoxicated or with a BAC of 0.08% or more;
8. drag racing or engaging in a speed contest in violation of the law;
9. leaving the scene of an accident or failing to make an accident report;
10. any felony under the Indiana motor vehicle statutes or any felony in the commission of which a motor vehicle is used.

If you do not meet the above the qualifications and wish to appeal you may qualify to drive in the following circumstances:

• You have six to eight points on your license for speeding, for the two years immediately prior to your registration, you may qualify to drive an Earlham vehicle if you complete an Indiana Standard Drive Improvement Course. • You are an international student with an international driver's license you may qualify to drive an Earlham vehicle if you obtain a valid Indiana driver's license and complete an Indiana Standard Drive Improvement Course. To obtain information concerning this program contact the BMV driver improvement program's department at (317) 233-6000, option #1 or visit the BMV Web site at www.bmvexpress.in.gov. To enroll in a driver improvement program course, please contact one of the companies listed.

• You have six points from either a "disregard stop/yield sign," "unsafe lane movement" or a "fail to use headlights" violation in the last two years with no other violations or points on your license; you may qualify to drive an Earlham vehicle if you complete an Indiana Standard Drive Improvement Course. To obtain information concerning this program contact the BMV driver improvement program's department at (317) 233-6000, option #1 or visit the BMV Web site at www.bmvexpress.in.gov. To enroll in a driver improvement program course, please contact one of the companies listed.

Proof of Indiana Standard Drive Improvement Course completion needs to be presented to the Campus Safety and Security Fleet Manager.
