Life After Earlham

Landrum Bolling Center

We are well pleased with the accomplishments of our Politics graduates. In the past 20 years eight Earlham students have won prestigious Truman Scholarships, while others have been awarded Marshall and Watson Fellowships. These nationally known scholarships underwrite students’ graduate studies and attest to a high level of undergraduate achievement.

What Careers do our Politics Graduates Follow?

Recent graduates have pursued graduate study or law school at Brandeis, Chicago, Columbia, Harvard, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, NYU, Ohio State, Princeton, Temple, Virginia and Wisconsin universities, and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Others have taken positions in government, at the federal, state, and local levels. Two have entered the Peace Corps.

Others work with public interest, citizen, or non-profit groups active in social and political causes. A number have developed careers in both public and private international organizations. Still others have gone into journalism or publishing. Most, regardless of specific careers, have maintained their concerns, stimulated by their time at Earlham, in promoting peace and social justice.
