Following a Very Different Path to Her Diploma
Before coming to Earlham, senior Andrea Todt had spent only one day of her childhood education in a formal classroom. “Unschooled,” rather than homeschooled, the Arkansas native now prepares to receive her college degree — in a major she designed herself!

USA Today: "S.A.T. Scores Big on Headaches"
Earlham College Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Jeff Rickey, himself a member of the College Board (though no particular fan) is quoted by USA Today higher education reporter Mary Beth Marklein in an article on the controversy swirling around thousands of incorrectly scored SAT exams and the resulting problems for students, parents, and college admissions officials across the country.

Out of Africa ... and Into the Classroom
As an Earlham senior and biology major, Jessica Castleberry ‘05 studied abroad in Tanzania, doing “quite a lot of research” into the current HIV/AIDS crisis affecting that sub-Saharan nation and many of its neighbors. Now enrolled in the College’s Master of Arts in Teaching program, she has shared that experience with her middle school science students and inspired them to raise money for African AIDS relief.
