Hello!  My name is Diana Lee Dietmeyer Punzo and I'm a social psychologist in the Earlham psychology department.   Social psychology is concerned with how people think about and are affected by each other.  I teach a variety of social psychology courses such as:   Prejudice & Passion, Propaganda & Persuasion, The Social Self, Psychology and the Law, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology.  Whew!

I consider myself an applied psychologist because I'm particularly interested in applying psychology and research methodologies to real world contexts.  Lately, I've taken my research skills and used them to conduct program evaluations and assessments for local and not-so-local organizations. Some of these projects I have conducted in collaboration with students.  Project organizations include:   Townsend Community Center (Richmond, Indiana) , the Youth Services Bureau (Wayne County, Indiana), and Peace and Reconciliation Group (L'Derry, Northern Ireland).

I received my B.A. from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA; and both my Masters and Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame, IN.   When I'm not preparing for class or doing assessment work, I like to cook, read, run (well, I don't really like to run but I do it anyway), travel and trip the life fantastic.

In the picture, I'm sitting atop of the Grianan of Ailigh, an ancient fort dating back to the 5th century B.C., about 6 miles west of Derry, Northern Ireland.  Behind me is the stunning Inishowen Peninsula in Co. Donegal, Ireland.  It was a glorious day.
