The picture here is of me and my daughter Kendall at Dover Castle with the English Channel in the distance. It was taken in the winter of 1996 when I led Earlham's off campus program in England.

I joined the Earlham faculty in 1982 after spending four years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I was first an NIH Fellow in environmental toxicology, and then an adjunct assistant professor in the psychology department. I earned my A.B. from Mount Holyoke College, M.A. with honors from Western Michigan University and Ph.D. in experimental psychology with an emphasis in behavioral pharmacology and animal learning and memory from Indiana University, Bloomington.

My major teaching interests include Experimental Psychology, Physiological, Learning, and Cognition. My research interestis in the history of psychology, particularly the history ofwomen experimental psychologists of the early twentieth century. I am a member of Cheiron: The International Society for the History of the Behavioral and Social Sciences and of the History of Psychology division of the American Psychological Association. I enjoy teaching the senior seminar in history of psychology very much.

My husband Chris, Kendall and I raise and train Bernese Mountain Dogs in obedience, tracking and draft work. We also enjoy hiking in the mountains, especially the Canadian Rockies, in the summer.
