Vince Punzo

My name is Vince Punzo and I am currently a professor of developmental psychology. I received a B.A. (in Psychology and English) and a M.S. (in Experimental Psychology) at Saint Louis University. I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. (1991) in individual and family development at the University of Notre Dame. Some of the classes I teach include "Human Development", "Psychology and Literature", "The Search for Self, Meaning and Goodness" and my current area of focus (and passion), "Positive Psychology." Readings in my courses are truly interdisciplinary; they are drawn from works of psychology, philosophy, education and fiction. Clearly, I am not one that believes learning is best confined to narrow disciplinary boundaries. As the picture above shows, I am also a devoted baseball fan. In fact, over the course of several summers, I attended games with various former students at every single major league ball park across the United States and Canada. Those afternoons and evenings spent catching up on the lives of former students while enjoying a baseball game provide me with a lot of fond memories and serve to remind me of the unique and lasting bonds forged between professors and students at Earlham.
