National Awards, Scholarships and Grants Introduction Programs with “It is always great news for the College when an Earlham student wins a top scholarship or research opportunity,” says Derric Watson, convener of the College’s Graduate Fellowship Committee. Composed of faculty members from a wide array of disciplines, this committee works each year match the expertise and interests of Earlham students with opportunities for nationally competitive grants, fellowships and scholarships. “Our students have done interesting things; they have excelled academically, offer innovative approaches and make excellent candidates,” says Watson. The Graduate Fellowship Committee assists by encouraging candidates to apply and assists them with staying on top of application requirements and deadlines. “The ability of Earlham students to compete for and receive nationally competitive awards demonstrates the quality of the College’s academic program and the individual accomplishments of our students,” says Academic Dean Greg Mahler. |
