Forum to Discuss Birds of Whitewater
Valley on April 15

RICHMOND, Ind. — Ornithologist and Professor
of Biology William Buskirk will discuss “Birds of the
Whitewater Valley” on Thursday, April 15, during an Earlham
College Forum.

A brief guided bird walk on the Earlham campus will precede
the forum. The group will concentrate on learning the songs
of common spring birds. Participants are to meet at 6:15
a.m. at the south end of the Bolling Center, and a limited
number of binoculars will be available to share.
The forum address begins at 8
a.m. in Loose Lecture Hall. A continental breakfast will be
served at 7:30 a.m. in the Richmond Room. The breakfast costs
$5, and reservations may be made by calling 765/983-1393.
The forum talk will be a thumbnail
sketch of the history of birds in the Whitewater Valley, including
comments on bird conservation in the area.
Buskirk is curatorial supervisor
at the Joseph Moore Museum of Natural History and chair of
the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Nongame Bird Technical
Advisory Committee.
