Earlham has been successful in reducing its use
of many different logos, concentrating on a single graphic look
for the institution. Audiences have begun to recognize and remember
our logo.
-
The Earlham logo works best when centered. Do not place any
text or illustrations within a quarter of an inch of the
logo.
-
Care should be taken to determine if your publication
represents the whole institution, which requires an Earlham
logo (above),
or the College only, which requires an Earlham College logo
(below).

-
PMS 201 is
the official "Earlham maroon" ink color for use
in publications. (Printers and vendors are familiar with PMS
or Pantone Matching System.)
-
For the best reproduction results, always start with a
first generation original if photocopying a logo onto your
document.
Avoid photocopying a logo from a previous publication, and
be careful to maintain the logo in its true proportion.
(Do not stretch or
squash the logo.) Camera-ready art is available from the
Public Affairs
Office. High-quality, electronic versions for logo placement
into your word processing or page layout document are
also available. Do not copy Earlham's logo from the College's
Web site. This file is not suitable for printed publications.

Official Earlham stationery and business cards carry this
logo system. Supplies of items carrying old logos should
be discarded. Public Affairs coordinates orders of official
stationery and
business
cards.
-
End all publications with standard contact information,
varying the size to fit the space available. Our office has
standardized

Adaptations of the Earlham logo are developed when a particular
department or part of the College plans repeated long-term
contacts with external audiences. For example, the public
events version
of the Earlham logo is used on event-related publications
and advertisements.
