Services for Campus

Public Affairs provide the following services to the campus departments, faculty and staff:

  • Around The Heart: Internal campus communication is accomplished chiefly through electronic and printed versions of the Around The Heart newsletter. Submissions — announcements, events, governance information, employment and service opportunities, scholarships, kudos, items of interest — may be made online.
  • Business Cards: Orders for official personal or departmental business cards may be placed here.
  • Campus Directory Services: The Public Affairs Office works with the Human Resources Office to assist faculty and staff in managing their personal information on WebDB for inclusion in the annual published directory and other campus-based lists.
  • Earlhamite, Alumni Magazine: The Earlhamite, published twice a year in January and July, communicates with Earlham College alumni, donors and friends, keeping them informed about each other and connected with the greater Earlham community. Earlhamite Extras — the online component of the magazine, publishes personal essays by alumni, faculty and students on a broad range of topics related to Earlham and its mission.
  • Institutional Identity System: Public Affairs manages Earlham's visual appearance in publications and online. It includes information on the use of official logos and departmental graphics.
  • Letterhead and Envelopes: Orders for official letterhead and envelopes with department-specific information may be placed here.
  • News Media: The Public Affairs Office coordinates contact between the media and the College.
  • Photography: Public Affairs coordinates photography services to support brochures or publications.
  • Publications: An in-house design service is available through Public Affairs to assist you in producing publication for targeted audiences.
  • Style Manual: When writing about Earlham for publications or public use, College faculty and staff might find the Public Affairs Office's Style Manual helpful. It offers guidance for both journalistic and marketing-oriented writing. The single sheet pdf, Especially at Earlham, provides a handy reference to Earlham's specified departures from Associated Press style.
