No new Theme House Communities are being accepted for 2013-2014.
A residential theme house is an opportunity for Earlham students to form an intentional community based upon academic or co-curricular educational themes and implement activities that promote and develop aspects of the proposed theme. Residential theme houses provide students with an opportunity to extend and enrich educational and co-curricular opportunities for themselves and the larger Earlham community. Theme Houses are required to have an advisor and the commitment ofan academic or administrative department (please see the College’s Theme House Policy Statement for more information).
As we recognize that student interests and community needs change and evolve over time, we actively encourage students to work closely with an academic department or other department in developing a proposal. All Theme Communities must have an advisor who will be actively engaged in planned lectures, symposia or other events that support the theme.
Proposals are reviewed annually by the Office of Residence Life in consultation with involved constituencies. Applications will be reviewed and College houses will be allocated as deemed appropriate for the benefit of the Earlham community. A proposal does not guarantee a house designation.
Important Documents Please review the Proposal Guidelines prior to submission Each application should include both your completed proposal and the Community Addendum
