Internships
What Is An Internship?
On a Pathway to Vocation, an internship is one of many experiences informing a student’s process for vocational discernment. An internship is seen as a learning partnership between the student, Earlham College and the respective internship site where the student is granted an opportunity to integrate classroom theory to practical work experiences. In addition, engagement in such experiences increases self-esteem and personal growth derived from successfully meeting new interpersonal and intellectual challenges, acquisition of important skills and knowledge and exposure to various work roles and career choices.
An internship may be paid or unpaid, credit bearing or not for credit, completed during an academic semester, May Term or during the summer.
