The office of Student Activities
is located in the Runyan
Student Center. The Director of Student
Activities, and Student Center Director, is Rich
Dornberger.
His office is located behind Runyan Center's main desk.

The Student Activities Director is charged with
advising the Earlham
Student Government. This
includes the Student Executive Council, which is the governing
body of the students. The Student Nominating Committee, responsible
for selecting students to serve on campus committees, monitoring
these students and publicizing the business being addressed by
these committees. The Student
Organizations Council, responsible for monitoring and providing
service and infrastructure to the 70 student clubs on campus.
In addition the director is also responsible for
advising the Student
Activities Board. The Student Activities Board
brings in extracurricular programs for student entertainment. Students
learn how to plan,
promote, organize and facilitate a large number of activities through
this organization. The
Sargasso, Earlham’s yearbook is supported by the office of
student activities. The yearbook is run totally by students who
develop skills in page layout, editing, photography, design, along
with budget management and office management. Currently they are
shifting from a hardbound printed to version to web based version.

office of Student Activities these include:

The Richmond Shuttle ( a shuttle available on Saturday nights
to take students to different locations around town. The movies,
a restaurant, grocery
shopping, the coffeehouse) |

The Weekend Day trips (Indianapolis Mall, Pacers Games,
Arena
Football games, Ice Skating, King’s Island amusement park, Jungle Jim's international Market) |
The office also works in conjunction with athletics
to bring a wide variety of Club Sports to our students. Club Sports
are sporting teams that compete with other campuses, however they
are not a part of intercollegiate athletics, or they may simply
be sporting clubs interested in developing a particular athletic
skill.
The Director is available
most days and are interested in hearing students, faculty and staff
suggestions for programming.
