Questing Catholics
Mission Statement:
Questing Catholics is a group of Catholic students
and faculty at Earlham College committed to remaining in the Catholic
Church while at the same time constructively wrestling with the
challenges and questions that arise with being active participants
in a traditional religious faith.
The group seeks to respond to the needs and interests of Catholics at Earlham,
helping to form a community in which Catholics can feel comfortable and spiritually
nourished. As a group we schedule time for fellowship as well as intellectual
and spiritual growth. Our goals are to build a welcoming community, provide opportunities
for the celebration and affirmation of our shared beliefs and to represent a
strong group of believers to the larger Earlham community.
Presently
we hold monthly meetings for business, planning, prayer and fellowship. We
often attend Mass together on and off campus. Other activities
include "Catholic
Movie Nights," activities in conjunction with other on-campus religious
groups and celebrations in keeping with the liturgical year.
Richmond
Catholic Community:
There are three
Catholic Churches in Richmond,
all located within walking distance from Earlham. The closest church
is Holy Family,
just one block from campus. St. Andrew and St. Mary are each approximately
a mile from campus. |
