The purpose of ECUU is to provide interested individuals an opportunity to socialize, worship, and to explore self, humanity, and spirituality in a safe environment. Activities include weekly meetings with monthly worships, communication with regional UU's, hosting opportunities to attend the Oxford church on a regular basis, and going to regional UU conventions.

Unitarian Universalism outlines the seven principles that we hold as the foundation of our mission statement:

1. The inherent worth and dignity of every person
2. Justice, equity and compassion in human relations
3. Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our
congregations
4. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
5. The right to conscience and use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large
6. The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
7. Respect for the interdependent wev of all existence of which we are a part
