Hockey coaching staff
Head Coach Jill
Butcher
Jill Butcher is a 1980 graduate of Indiana State
University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and
Physical Education with a minor in Mathematics.
Throughout Butcher's
time as an undergraduate, she was a starter for the Sycamore
field hockey team.
Butcher received a Master of Science
degree in 1985 and earned a second Master's degree from Ball
State University
in 2003. She has been honored twice by the NCAC as Coach of
the Year.
In 2002, Butcher was named a Sports
Ethic Fellow, along
with famed sports figures Lance Armstrong and Marion Jones.
She currently
serves as the chair of the NCAC Field Hockey Coaches Committee.
Assistant Coach Gina Preston
Gina Preston, who is a 2004 graduate of Centre College, is in her first
season as assistant field hockey coach.
Preston, a native of Louisville,
Ky., earned her B.A. in English with a minor in History. She was
a four-year starter for Centre, while earning NFHCA Div. III and
Great Lakes Region All-American
honors in 2002.
She was selected to the KIT All-Region
team in 2003 and to the KIT All-Tournament squad from 2000-02 and
served
as team captain as a
junior and senior. Preston was also a three-year starter in softball.
