Evaluation Criteria for Poster Project

I will be asking the following questions when I evaluate your posters, therefore it may help you to ask youself these same questions as you are writing and formating and assembling your posters.....

Is it visually pleasing?
  • Is the font big enough to read from a few feet away?
  • Are the diagrams readable?
  • Is the poster generally "easy on the eyes" or is it exhausting/daunting to read for visual/aesthetic reasons?
  • Is it nice looking or is it sloppy and "thrown-together?"

Is the content good?

  • Is there sufficient background explanation?
  • Can a non-scientist understand everything you have written?
  • Is there sufficient detail?
  • Does is adequately represent the current literature?
  • Are the diagrams used pertinent to the poster topic?
  • Is the writing good (is it straight and to the point? is is easily readable?)?
  • Is the literature cited sufficient (at least 4 primary plus 5 others - secondary and web?
  • Is the literature cited appropriately mid text?
  • Is a consistent format used for citations and the references list?

Is the content well organized?

  • Is it easy to follows or does the poster not progress in logical order?
  • Is there text/writing to support/explain diagrams?

 

Evaluation of Partners on Poster Project

You will be providing information on the participation and contribution made by your partner in the completion of this assignment. Be thoughtful and honest in your critique. We encourage discussion of perceived imbalances in work loads during the process! Fill out a separate form for each member of your group, including yourself.
