May Term in Telluride:
High Altitude Physiology Research
Telluride May Term Pictures- May/June 2002
First we started with
some background
lectures & discussion
on high altitude
physiology and
excercise physiology.
Then we obtained our "baseline" values at
1,000 feet, in
Richmond, IN.
Then we drove
and drove
and drove....
...and drove
(1,500 miles)
to get to
Telluride....

...and it wasn't so bad
once we got there!

The motley crew with the excellent views!
We did exercise testing outside..........
....and inside...
...and we
even managed to find time for soaking in the view
(while soaking in the hot tub)...
The mountain biking was great on the
trails and up to Bridal Veil Falls... as well as Wilson Mesa Trail and others....
And the hiking wasn't so bad either!
Goin' up Jud Weibe Trail... ...the view down to town from
Jud Weibe Trail... ...Bear creek falls still partly
frozen...
And the house wasn't so bad...
...either inside...
....or outside on the decks!
...but alas, we had to leave &
return to Richmond, where we analyzed our data.
