2004 Supervised Field Studies Here are some pictures of current students' placements.
Katie and Elly with founder, Estar Chavez Cano at Casa amiga. Casa Amiga was the first crisis center for women on the Mexican side of the entire border region. Casa Amiga works to prevent violence against women and children. The students often work on a puppet show presented to school children, teaching them about "good touch" and "bad touch." The puppet show is a big hit.
Lee works at Opportunity Center. The Opportunity Center is a homeless shelter in El Paso, designed and run by people who were formerly or are currently homeless. It offers a broad range of services for those without homes. In addition to the standard services of offering people a place to sleep and hot meals, the O.C. provides laundry facilities, educational training, veterans' services, and a medical clinic.
We will soon have more pictures of students in their field studies. |
