The Community Action Center
(aka "The Center" and the C.A.C.)
is an umbrella organization whose aim is to encourage
networking, communication, and provide information to foster
activism within the Earlham community. We hope to promote
activism (a term we define broadly), encouraging student
organizations to coordinate their actions, and reach out to the
greater Richmond community. The Community Action Center strives to bring individuals and organizations together from the Earlham community together by providing common space to enhance communication and therefore inspire action. |
During the school year, The C.A.C. is most always "open" for business from
11 am - 1 pm on
weekdays, during the lunch rush, when many Earlhamites come to check their mail. Come say Hi, and
check out the calendar of what is happening on Campus, or take a look through our ever expanding
collection of literature on many different topics.
We are located in the heart of Earlham's campus, Runyan Center,
in the space formerly occupied by Star Bank, around the corner from the mailboxes.
We have a large variety of useful resources including:
You can contact The Center in a variety of ways. We have a list-serve in which e-mail concerning the Community Action Center is circulated at bank-l@earlham.edu. To subscribe send an e-mail message with the body "subscribe bank-l" to Majordomo@earlham.edu or contact the list manager. Our phone number is extension XXXX or (765) 983-XXXX for off-campus calls. During our "business hours" you can reach a student volunteer/worker who would be more than willing to answer questions.
Wish List
We are always interested in donations. While our space for furniture is rapidly decreasing, we still need more shelf space. A real nice floor covering of some sort would be appreciated. Donations of books, pamphlets and other materials for our Activism Library will be kindly accepted.
