- Fish Bowl exercise- a simulation with members of the group
- Facilitators or clerks for consensus building
- Engaging differences- lessons from Quaker practice
- Disagreement and dissent- unique viewpoint from Quaker experience
- Group decision-making exercise- group practice tailored to issues
relevant to your group

Preparation prior to the workshop:
- Someone from your group will work with our workshop trainers in developing
a scenario for a practice exercise.
- We like to have information on the following:
- the way your group makes decisions now
- kinds of issues your group works on and the topics that are of current
interest
- why you are interested in consensus building
- are you considering using consensus decision making?
- occupations, positions and other background of group members

Materials and
equipment provided by your organization:
Equipment: overhead and screen, flip charts with easel and makers
Set up: a table for 8-9 people for fish bowl, visible to entire
group. (Note: round tables work best, but we can work with other configurations);
