Frances Moore Lappe '66 Visits Earlham
You are invited to attend the next
Convocation on Wednesday, February 21 at 1:00 pm in Goddard Auditorium in
Carpenter Hall. The speaker will be Frances Moore Lappe '66. The title of
her talk will be "Diet for a Smaller Planet: What I've Learned in 30
Years."
Francis Lappe's book Diet for a Small
Planet is often credited with starting the Nutrition Revolution. She is
currenty visiting scholar for the "Small Planet Project" in the
Department of Urban Studies and Planning and Center for Reflective
Community Practice at MIT.
Francis's newest book, The Next Diet
for a Small Planet, co-written with her daughter Anne explores how humans
can tap nature's abundance instead of generating hunger and scarcity.
During Francis' time on campus, we hope
to plan ample opportunities for you to meet with her during a mealtime or
one of several class presentations.
