Celebrate Election Week with this satirical comedy, where a hotly contested high school election becomes a metaphor for the state of American politics in the late 1990s. Tracy Flick (Reese Witherspoon) is the perfect candidate for student body president of Carver High. In fact, she so perfect, she's running unopposed. Jim McAllister (Matthew Broderick), a well-respected teacher at the school, decides to derail Tracy's obsessive overachieving by offering an opposition candidate of his own. To that end, he recruits the captain of the football team (Chris Klein) to run against Tracy. Neither man, however, realizes that stopping Tracey is like trying to put toothpaste back in the tube.
