On-Campus Resources

Students on campus also have opportunities to pursue their interest in French and Francophone Studies outside the classroom. Each year, several live in La Maison Française, a campus house where French is spoken daily and activities related to French such as Mardi Gras parties, video nights, and drop-in tutoring take place. Also residing in La Maison is a native-speaking teaching assistant. This young person helps other residents improve their spoken French, works with beginning language courses, shares his or her own experiences, and contributes to other French-related activities on campus such as La Table Française where people meet to speak French over lunch. Recent teaching assistants have come from France, Martinique, Haiti, and Senegal.
