Projects
For
my molecular Biology class I am designing a website about the protein TFIIF.
This protein is a general Transcription factor that aids in recruitment of RNA
Polymerase II by DNA in order to initiate the transcriptional process. In this
website I discuss current research regarding this protein, I talk about its
structure and its function in Eukaryotic Cells.
In
May of 2003 I will be working with Dr.
John Iverson, doing research on the Allan's
Cay Rock Iguana in the Bahamas. Dr. Iverson's research has been ongoing
for over 20 years. I'm very much looking forward to the experience.
In
May of 2002, I spent 3 weeks studying various aspects in Marine
Biology on the island of San Andros in the Bahamas. The various topics studied
included: Coral Reef Zonation, Coral Reef Ecology and Biodiversity, Fiddler
Crab Ethographies, Thelassia testudinum microinvertebrates, geological
formations, plankton identification, and island biogeography.
