KINGS ISLAND

Paramount's Kings Island is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is home to the world's longest completely wooden rollercoaster, named The Beast. Along with this record breaking coaster, there are many other jaw dropping coasters and attractions. If you can find a free summer afternoon, definately head down to Cincinnati and have the time of your life at Kings Island!

Hughes Bridgers at Kings Island

Kings Island was TONS of fun. We got to Cincinnati around noon and immediately went to work riding the rides and seeing the sites. Caroline, Nick, Kari, Justin, Arielle, and Matt P. made a beeline to the Son of Beast to start off the day. While the wait was a little long (about 1 1/2 hours) the ride was lot of fun. After the SOB ride it started to rain. Not just a little sprinkle either, this was an all out downpour. While it was raining, many of us decided to break for lunch and wait until the rain stopped to start riding again. The lines for the rides were realy short because most everyone aside from the Hughes program were wimps and left during the storm. We waited for the Vortex for under 45 minutes and got some killer video. (Unfortunately the video isn't available.) The loops and drops were awesome.

The Beast sure lived up to the hype, and was declared by the Hughes students as the best roller coaster at the park. For many of us it was the last ride of the day, and what a ride to end on. The tunnels and fast drops were mind-blowing, and in one case nauseating. The Hughes program ended this busy day with a relaxing dinner at Chili's where we marveled at Arielle's ability to down Diet Coke after Diet Coke and wow us with her burping skills.
