The Project on Faith, Vocation, and Leadership announces the availability of internship stipends for Earlham College undergraduates for spring, summer, or fall.

These stipends will enable College students to work with a religiously affiliated organization on a mutually agreeable internship. Organizations may include religious congregations (church, mosque, meeting, synagogue), religiously based service agencies or peace and justice groups, denominational agencies, or religious schools. Academic credit may be arranged.

Students are encouraged to consult with the Office of Career Services about finding internship sites, or may propose particular sites with which they are familiar. Special consideration will be given to students wanting to work with congregations in Wayne County, minority students wanting to work in minority communities; and Quaker students. Internships are not, however, restricted to these groups: students from all religious backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Stipends available for:
· Two summer internships (summer 2003): stipend $3000 each
· Two term-time, part-time internships in or near Wayne County (spring 2003): stipend $2000 each
· Two term-time, off-campus, full-time internships: stipend $5000 each (fall 2003)
· Two term-time, part-time internships in or near Wayne County (fall 2003)

Interested students should compose a two- to four-page proposal (on paper, please), which includes the following information:
· Your year and major, if chosen
· Which internship funding you’re applying for
· What kind of internship placement you’d like to work in and why
· What gifts, skills, and experience you bring to the internship
· How the internship fits into your educational and vocational plans
· What you would like to gain or learn from the internship
· Your understanding of religious leadership and how the internship will help you explore and develop it
· Student’s name, on-campus contact information, and home address

Applications for spring 2003 internships are due by 10 December 2002.
Applications for summer 2003 internships due by 1 March 2003.
