Wildman Science Library Facilities and Reservations

Wildman Science Library provides Faculty, Students and Library Patrons with access to the following:

Public Computers

Wildman Science Library provides one computer for use by non-Earlham/Bethany patrons. This computer is located next to the circulation desk. Log in information is posted at the work station. See Circulation Desk staff for further assistance.

Keys

Faculty members often place keys on reserve for student use. These keys may be checked out at the circulation desk. Patrons must have their ID to check out a key. An 'Authorized User' list is made for each key; if you are not on this list you will not be permitted to check out the key in question. If you feel that you need access to a specific key, speak to the faculty member in charge of the key to obtain authorization.

Technology Study Room (Room 190 E):

Room 190E is located on the main level of Wildman, and comfortably fits up to 15-20 people. This room is equipped with technology that allows users to project images from a laptop onto a large plasma screen for presentations or group editing of a document, view DVD and VHS materials, and record presentations for review and practice. Users must supply their own laptop (connector cables are provided) and DVD/VHS as needed. DVD-Rs may be purchased at the Circulation Desk for $1.00 if the user does not have their own. Remote controls/keys/adapters for this equipment are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

There is a laptop available for check out at the Circulation Desk for use in the technology study room. The laptop may be checked out for 2 hours and is for use with this room only. Users must fill out a Laptop Computer Agreement in Wildman before checking out the laptop. Further information on the agreement and overdue and replacement fines for laptop use can be found on the Laptop Computer policy page.

The room may be reserved by Earlham students, faculty, and staff. Priority is given to reservations and those using the technology for academic purposes. If the space is not reserved, walk-in use is permitted. Those not using the technology, or those using the technology for non-academic uses, may be asked to move to another library space if other patrons need to access the technology for academic purposes. Use is limited to 2 hours at a time. To make a reservation, contact Mary Bogue at the Wildman Science Library circulation desk, 983-1245. Please include your name, the date and time of the reservation, and which room you wish to reserve. You will receive confirmation of your reservation as soon as it has been processed.

Computing Lab

Wildman Library provides computer access to non-Earlham/Bethany patrons via one public terminal next to the circulation desk. See the information on public computers above for more details.. Lilly Library provides two computers for public use near the main entrance.

The ECS Wildman Computing Lab is located in the basement of the library. It is open to Earlham/Bethany/ESR students, faculty and staff during regular library hours.Student workers from ECS monitor lab supplies and equipment on a daily basis. If a problem occurs, please ask for help at the Wildman circulation desk or call the Help Desk at x2000 for assistance with technical issues.

During the academic year this lab is regularly reserved for instruction; reservations take priority over general student use. The schedule for each week is posted at the entrance to the lab for patron reference. Daily lab reservations are posted at the head of the stairs to the basement.

Starting the last two weeks of classes each semester and extending through finals, the lab will have 24 hour access via an alarmed exterior basement exit. The code for the security panel on this door may be obtained from staff at the circulation desk or ECS at that time.
