Steps for finding items listed in bibliographies

  1. Locate a bibliographic citation. Look at the list of sources in subject encyclopedias and bibliographies.
  2. Check to see if we have local access to the item or can obtain through interlibrary loan. SFX Citation Linker can help determine if articles are in databases and also can facilitate searching for books in our library catalog and World Cat.
  3. Request items through interlibrary loan. The use the electronic form for books and/or for articles, or use the links in WorldCat and databases.

Find books in the Earlham Library Catalog
 In addition to "Keywords Anywhere" searches, try browsing Subject Headings. Try Searching for the Subject "Great Britain" combined with combinations of other keywords, specific to your topic. The asterix, *, at the end of terms will search for all variations that start with the letters before. For example: "charit*" will retrieve records containing, charity, charities, charitable, etc.
