Welcome to the Earlham Libraries, which serve Bethany Theological Seminary and the Earlham School of Religion, as well as Earlham College. The Libraries' home page provides access to our subscription electronic databases and resources, as well as information on hours, services, and policies.
Off-campus users, whether you're a few miles or several states away, can access all of the databases, electronic books, and fulltext journal articles that are available online at Earlham. To do so, you must be a current Earlham or Bethany employee or student, and have a current Earlham email account. Follow the links to the resources from the Libraries' web page (rather than typing in the direct URL of the resource. This takes you through the proxy server.) When you are asked for login and password, use your Earlham email ID and password.
Students and adjunct faculty living far from campus may receive items from the library via the Document Delivery service.
This group of web pages contains helpful information for seminary library users, but please do not hesitate to contact a library staff member for personal assistance.
Contact the theological reference librarian, Jennie Kiffmeyer, by email, by phone at (765)983-1408, or by fax at (765)983-1304. She will try to respond within one working day. Librarians will generally not do research for you, but will make suggestions about research strategy, teach and assist you in the use of databases, reference tools, and search engines, and assist with especially difficult problems.
You may also get research help by chatting with the librarian on duty (see the link from the main library website), or phoning the Reference desk at 765-973-2106.
Course-specific help and assistance with particular databases is available, as well as a FAQ (responses for frequently asked questions).
