JOHN ENOS, son of Joseph and Jane (STORIE) ENOS, was born about c1750 [WillsNC L:259 in CalenNC 97] died intestate 22 Jan 1815 in Glasgow, Pencader; his estate was not settled until 1838 [OrphNC Q1:480]. He married Jane ______ c1777 [1st child] and married second Rebecca MOORE 9 Feb 1788 in New Castle [Immanuel 2332]. In 1779 John, a NewCastle farmer, loaned 30 bushels of corn to American forces [MilArDE 4:1177]. With Archibald ALEXANDER [see his entry], who later became his brother-in-law, John bought a messuage & tanyard in NewCastle 21 May 1779 and sold it 28 Dec 1784 [DeedsNC F2:264].
