The Salon of News and Thought

Welcome to my humble Webhome,

I am happy and pleased to have you visit this little corner of mine in the vast and profuse territory that is the World Wide Web. As you can clearly see, it is a work in progress. I just graduated from Earlham College in May 2004, and though I started this website while I was in College, it is only now that I have the time to update it (I know, procrastination 101 !!).

Well what can you find on my website? A variety of things really. As you might expect, you will find many things about me, and my family, my country. I will also try to maintain a "What's new" section on this page, so that I can let people know about what I am doing. I also, finally, have a blog on the website, to express myself, and you are more than welcome to join! See the feed here, thanks to Feedburner

What is New with Ali?

  • Oct.20.2005: The Conference went VERY well!!!! here is the conference website, so you know what it was about.
  • Jun.05.2005: I will be going tomorrow to start working for Plowshares in Goshen College. I will organize the 3rd Annual Plowshares Peace Conference, with 2 students from Manchester College (Camilo Velasquez, Nicaragua), and from Goshen College (Erin Williams, Canada). I will be the Earlham College member of the trio. Wish me luck!!!
  • Feb.25.2005: I am still in Columbus. I finally got around to putting my blogs's feed on this site. I hope you like it. It's called "The Salon of News and Thought". It's my World news and politics blog. As you can imagine, quite a lot about Congo, Africa, the US and the Middle East (and other places too!).
  • Jan.12.2005: I am still in Columbus. Hanging in there, in corporate America! Wish me luck!
  • Jan.01.2005: Happy New Year everybody!!!
  • Dec.25th.2004: Merry Christmas everybody, and Happy Holidays!!!
  • Sept.26.2004: I created a blog for expression of ideas, news, jokes, etc... Please come and join. But be prepared to be open-minded about it.
  • Sept.25.2004: I went to Earlham College for the African Festival. They have done an excellent job, I am really proud of them, for carrying on the torch of Africa in EC. Good job Jacqueline, Destiny and everybody!! It was also interesting to come back to the Campus, and meet everybody. A bit overwhelming, but nice. I am going back to Columbus on Sunday the 26th.
  • Sept.12.2004: I have been working for 2 weeks, and it is crazy here!! But it all feels good because we are working for a good cause, even though not everybody here seems to realize it. So I am in Columbus, working hard. Give me a call!!
  • Aug.27.2004: I will be leaving my beloved Richmond IN on Monday 30th, to go to Columbus. I will keep my Richmond Cellphone, though. So people have no excuse not to call.
  • Aug.25.2004: I just learned that I am confirmed to work for Working America, in Columbus OH. Hurray!!!
  • Aug.07.2004: I went to my cousin/sister Wivine's wedding to a wonderful sailor-man named Jeannot. I was in the wedding party, and I was also one of the wedding singers with a beautiful young girl named Cynthia Tolende. It was awesome to have a family gathering, even though they are sometimes so conservatively Congolese. The wedding pictures will be up in this website soon, in the Photos Elswhere section.
