So, what’s this got to do with Moodle?
Take a look at Back to Basics II . Notice how the header and footer are fixed and the middle area scrolls. Now take a look at fixed layout version 2 and see how the left hand menu remains fixed while the middle scrolls.
I think that Moodle could take advantage of this form of layout which together with tabs could streamline things a lot. Plus it works in IE 6 & in Safari.
Mock up a Weekly outline with tabs along the top margin. Tabs should have dates in them but no reason to have fixed time spans. Need to have a fixed area where stuff can be referenced but which can be hidden away. Suggest a DOM based hidden section…
