CHEF questions
Meet with MITC folks Nancy Millichap and Manuel Rendon(Diane Snedden from Lake Forest and Janet Russell) in Ann Arbor on Thursday 7th August. Here's some preliminary questions:
- Presumably we give a list of students on the courses to Manuel.
Will there be a facility for users to change their passwords?
- How does one set the message of the day? Or is this message from the system admin?
- Can I be granted CHEF administrator privilege?
- Is there a U.M course about CHEF administration that's worth attending?
- Various queries about the inner workings:
- how can I configure a class into small groups?
- the text entry box is tiny. Can we configure this to be larger?
- How can we use CHEF with a TA to grade assignments?
- I'd like to have a 'Blog' button that loads in the Blog entry web page. Can this be done? Hanna Reeves of U.M's CTNG user support gave me the impression that such things were fairly straightforward.
More to come. It might be an idea to invite someone from U.M (eg Hanna Reeves) to come along to our meeting to explain some of the inner workings involved.
