Congress has approved the Library of Congress' ambitious Plan for the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program (NDIIPP). The approval enables the library to build the first phase of a national infrastructure for the collection and long-term preservation of "America's cultural and intellectual heritage in digital formats".
