Excerpt: "Although the concept of freely sharing scientific and medical knowledge with everyone globally has merit, it does not appear to work well for all providers of scholarly publications. Educational, not-for-profit societies, such as the ARRS [American Roentgen Ray Society], would soon see open access turn to no access because the free dissemination of the material in their medical journals would be financially unsustainable.
