Life on Campus

The Director of Quaker and Campus Ministries
and seminary students serve the interfaith community at Earlham
through the office of Campus Ministries as a part of Student Development.
They work with other area ministers, members of the faculty, and
students to provide a wide range of events and other forms of support
for religious
life on campus.
The weekly College Meeting for Worship combines quiet
worship, readings, music, and a prepared message by a student, faculty
member, or visitor. Other opprtunities for worship include Muslim
prayer, Shabbat Dinner, and nightly Ichthys
House Worship. The Council on Religion at Earlham (CORE) is
a student group with members from various campus religious organizations.
CORE sponsors the annual Religious Emphasis Week. The many religious
groups and worship opportunities
are described in the brochure on Spiritual Growth Opportunities.
Students are also welcome at houses of worship in the Richmond area.
Earlham College encourages faculty, staff, and students to observe
the major holy days of their faith. When such participation involves
being absent from class or work, the appropriate faculty or supervisors
should be notified in advance and arrangements made to cover the
work missed.
Students are invited to share ideas and concerns and come for
pastoral care and prayer.
