Minutes of the 60th Annual Weaver Reunion

June 18, 2006

Approximately 40 members including guests of the Howard C. Weaver family gathered in the Flowers Building at the Preble County Fairgrounds in Eaton, Ohio, June 18, 2006 for their 60th annual reunion.

Upon arrival, the tables were not covered with paper as we were accustomed to. There was a quick trip to Wal-Mart to purchase some plastic tablecloths. After the tables were covered and food in place, Don Weaver led us in prayer and then a delicious pot luck meal was enjoyed by all.

John Weaver opened the business meeting by reading the minutes from last year and there were no additions or corrections. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as read. The Treasurer's report was read and accepted as read.

Of the original twelve and their spouses, only Irene and Doris were present. We were glad to have them with us and we missed those who were not able to attend.

Births - Danielle Bussard, Paul's daughter, had a baby boy, Ezekiel Thomas.

Graduations - Sean Weaver and Alex Weaver graduated from high school and Susan Moore was licensed as a minister.

Marriages - Ryan Weaver married Sally Berryhill November 5, 2005.

Deaths - Fred J. Weaver in September, 2005 and Charles Bussard in June, 2006.

The hat was passed and we collected $141.00.

We decided not to have ice cream as our mid-afternoon snack since the Dairy Queen was no longer in business in Eaton. The previous year folks traveled all the way to Brookville to purchase ice cream. We had a motion to not have ice cream any more and a second. All approved.

The minutes of the first Weaver reunion were then read.

Mary Ann Weaver passed out lists of names, addresses, and phone numbers to the head of each of the original family asking for updates and changes.

A discussion was held to keep the reunion at the fairgrounds or to have it elsewhere. A motion was made to keep it at the fairgrounds. All approved.

Since Pete's family is next in line to serve as president, John will contact Dan and Connie to congratulate them.

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting and seconded. All approved. Following adjournment, we sang hymns and visited.

John Weaver, President 2006

*Important Note: Janis Weaver called the fairgrounds and they said that they would cover the tables for a fee of $25.
