Lily Tinker-Fortel '06

Tinker -fartel _lilyLily Tinker-Fortel '06 majored in Peace and Global Studies. As a student she was an RA, Vice President of Nominations in Earlham Student Government, and was part of the Richmond Community Schools Volunteer Mentoring Program.

Lily lives in Columbia, Missouri. Following graduation, she was Community Outreach Coordinator and Peace Educator with Mid-Missouri Peaceworks, and traveled to Iran as a civilian diplomat in May 2008. Lily is currently employed with GRO-Grass Roots Organizing, a social justice non-profit. GRO works to engage disenfranchised and new voters and build civic participation on issues such as healthcare, housing reform, and workers rights. Among other things, she treasures the ways in which Earlham emphasizes the importance of humility and collaboration, while at the same time strengthening one's sense of self and reinforcing the power and consequence of individual action.
